The paper treats verb-noun interaction in the system of inter-categorial derivation. The article analyzes various linguistic approaches to the investigation of semantic and grammatical properties of nouns and verbs. The author relies on the theoretical propositions of cognitive linguistics as well as on the traditional criteria while characterizing the mechanisms of linguistic categorization.
