The article focuses on spiritual and moral education of young people with the help of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s literary heritage. The educational potential of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s literary legacy is illustrated by the analysis of his miniatures, which center on a number of issues: philosophical problems, one’s attitude to nature, human relationships, spiritual values, beauty and creativity. The paper deals with spiritual values of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s works (faith, patriotism, freedom, goodness, compassion) and their pedagogical interpretation. The author maintains that A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s works have a great educational potential, and should be used in both curricular and extra-curricular courses of the Russian language and literature. The article proves that A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s literary heritage should be used as a means of spiritual and moral education of young people.
