The article deals with the year-long hosting of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings in Vietnam in 2017. This was the first APEC meeting for United States President Donald Trump. Donald Trump was expected to have a formal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Due to uncoordinated actions of Russian and American officials, the meeting didn’t take place. The two leaders, however, approved a joint statement on Syria. Despite general beliefs that APEC has exhausted its potential, the Forum goes on determining the economic situation in the Asia-Pacific region. The decisions made at the Summit enable further economic cooperation of APEC’s member economies and secure inclusive development.
