The article treats muscle spindle concept as a theoretical basis for the pathogenesis of parkinsonian tremor. Striatal dopamine deficiency disables the caudate nucleus inhibitory function and causes excessive tremorogenic impulses. Tremorogenic impulses are transmitted along static gamma motoneurons, nuclear chain intrafusal muscle fibers, and phasic extrafusal muscle fibers. All this results in trembling hyperkinesis.
