The paper centers on urgent problems of higher education informatization as a premise of the information society development. The article dwells on a number of pedagogical, methodological and scientific controversies of higher education informatization and analyzes some innovative scholars’ views on higher education informatization. It also analyzes the work of some organizations, the activity of which is connected with the informatization of education and society.
