The paper focuses on parody as one of the devices A. Solzhenitsyn used in his book «The Gulag Archipelago». The analysis of part 3, chapter 19 shows Solzhenitsyn’s views on this genre, revealing the devices the writer used to create the grotesque and tragic image of the archipelago and its ‘natives’.
