The article focuses on the role of multimedia technology in education. The paper deals with the notions ‘hypertext’, ‘hypermedia’, ‘programming languages’, ‘virtual reality’, etc. The paper highlights the possibility of using multimedia as a means to optimize education process. It describes the possibilities of using interactive whiteboards in education.
