The fractal nature of nitride contacts. p.148-155.

Iron-nickel contact surfaces subjected to ion-induced surface modification by means of pulsed nitrogen discharge are investigated by atomic-force microscopy and optical microscopy. It is maintained that the fractal dimension of heterogeneous surfaces depends on the time of ion-plasma surface treatment and on the rate of switching modes. Surface fractal dimension quantitatively characterizes relief evolution and optimizes corrosion-resistant and erosion-resistant contact materials of high conductivity.
