The paper analyzes Slovak readers’ attitude to A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s works. It provides a historical review of translations of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s works into the Slovak language. The author speaks about different translators and their translation policy. She analyzes the changing attitude of Slovak readers to A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s works. The author shows the main approaches to the translation of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s vocabulary into the Slovak language and provides illustrations of the most difficult cases of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s unique usage of words.
