T.S. Zhbankova — a researcher of Ryazan dialects. P.86-93.

T.S. Zhbankova (1928–1997) made a significant contribution to the research of Ryazan dialects. Being a student she participated in dialectological expeditions of Ryazan Pedagogical Institute. The expeditions were aimed at researching Ryazan dialects in order to compile the Dialect Atlas of the Russian Language that was published by the Institute of the Russian Language of the Academy of Science of the USSR in 1947. In the late 1960s — early 1970s, being a member of the Department of the Russian Language, T.S. Zhbankova supervised the research work aimed at exploring Ryazan dialects in order to compile the Slavic Linguistic Atlas. In the 1980–1990s the scholar supervised the research work aimed at collecting data for the Lexical Atlas of the Russian Folk Dialects. T.S. Zhbankova published a number of articles on underresearched and unresearched dialects of the Ryazan region. In many articles the scholar dealt with the poetic function of dialectal words in S.A. Yessenin’s works. T.S. Zhbankova developed methodological recommendations for the correction of dialect-based errors in Ryazan rural students’ speech.
