The article “Memories Live on” devoted to 100-th anniversary of Ryazan State University named after S. Esenin includes recollections of V.F. Denisov’s (1929–1994) friends, colleagues and former students. V.F. Denisov, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor headed the English Chair at the Faculty of History and worked at the University more than 40 years running. In the memoirs of people who were close to him during his life he is described as an intelligent person, scientist, lecturer, poetry lover, sportsman, and a man of honour. Memoirs are written by his friends: Professor of Diplomatic Academy, Doctor of History A.D. Shutov, Professor of Ryazan Institute of Moscow University of Culture L.V. Chekurin, colleagues from the English Chair: K.T. Kiselyova and I.I. Nilova, his students and later colleagues: Doctors of Philology I.P. Savilova and G.P. Loshak, teacher of English O. Yaroslavtseva, former student L.K. Leonova. Paying tribute to the people who contributed to the development of the University the authors remember with gratitude V.F. Denisov’s lectures on the Theory of Phonetics, his English classes and warm-hearted communication with the friend, colleague and teacher.
