American character through the eyes of Russian people. р. 65–76

The article is devoted to the problem of the developing the national stereotype of the American people. On the basis of the analysis of the Russian observers’ works we can identify the specific characteristics of the national mentalities of American people, determine the spheres of their interests and learn their traditions and habits. This allows to eliminate the negative attitude to “the strange countries and nations” and to focus on the objective criteria and true facts represented by our countrymen.
