A. Solzhenitsyn’s female characters in the context of Easter traditions (on the example of the epic novel «the Red wheel»). p. 97-104.

Some important literary elements of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s cycle of novels «The Red Wheel» have never been thoroughly analyzed. The concept of Easter, which plays an important role in comprehending the author’s worldview, has never been studied either. The paschal element of the cycle does not only emphasize the importance of Easter traditions for Russian culture but shows the country’s gradual alienation from the Orthodox Church. The author of «The Red Wheel» demonstrates gradual loss of paschality and searches for the causes of the moral crisis that resulted in a spiritual catastrophe. This article deals with female images of the cycle of novels. The article traces the connection between the paschal element of the cycle and the author’s concept of an ideal personality.
