Character-Narrator Interaction in A.I. Solzhenitsynʼs “Cancer Ward”. P.109- 114.

The paper analyzes the means of character-narrator interaction in A.I. Solzhenitsynʼs “Cancer Ward”. A special emphasis is laid on the narrative principle of the work, which is predetermined by A.I. Solzhenitsynʼs choice of literary means of expression. The author analyzes the novel to find differ-ent ways through which character-narrator interaction is manifested (the narrator is present in the charac-terʼs mind, the narrator reflects the authors ideas, etc.). The analysis focuses on the authorʼs creative per-sonality which is used to express the characterʼs thoughts and ideas. The authorʼs ideas expressed in the “Cancer Ward” are related to A.I. Solzhenitsynʼs ideas expressed in publicistic articles. The article draws conclusions about the interaction of the narrator and characters and the role they play in a literary work.Author, interaction, character, character imitation narrative principle, penetrating the charac-terʼs mind, the authorʼs selfness.
