Abstract. A considerable number of modern Russian research is aimed at the investigation of the position of Russian prisoners during the years of World War I. The article attempts to analyze the position of foreign military prisoners in the Vladimir Province in 1915-1916. The article describes prisoners’ everyday routine and local dwellers’ attitude to them. The article investigates military prisoners’ routine, their meals and leisure activities.
