Abstract: The paper reviews M. Jonas’s monograph on political and socio-economic relations of the Scandinavian countries during World War I. The author analyzes the development of Sweden, Norway and Denmark in their conditions of neutrality and in general, the complicated relations between the fighting alliances. The book does not show an integrated picture, as the author chooses certain episodes, and Jonas fails to present an overall picture of Scandinavia during this period. Nevertheless, addressing this rather unique topic attracts attention. Besides, many subjects raised by the author will be of interest to historians of the World War I.

Key words: World War I, Scandinavia, neutrality, Triple Entente, Central Powers.
