Socio-territorial factors of local self-governance  development in Russia. P. 68-79.

The article discusses the features of the development of local self-governance in the context of the expansion of social and territorial foundations of Russian statehood. It is shown that the local self-governance was initially developed as a governmental mechanism in the country, which has a vast territory and a variety of lifestyles economic and social life. The diversity of territories of the Russian state, the difference of historical destinies of their people caused specific variants relations between the center and regions, which not only changed in time, but co-existed at some periods in history.
