The article investigates the conceptual sphere of englishness (house, home, privacy, common sense, humor, gentle manners, which are the most significant aspects of human life.
Sincerity, disinterested love, loyalty, decency, sensible perception of reality are singled out as core social values. These values are organically woven into the fabric of Jane Austen’s works ensuring the englishness of her worldview.
