Abstract. The article presents historical data pertaining to evacuation hospitals functioning in the Ryazan Region during World War II. The article analyzes the legal status of evacuation hospitals. The investigation of archival documents enables the author to study the functions of evacuation hospitals in the Ryazan Region and to compare them against the functions performed by evacuation hospitals in other regions.
